Imam Ghazali was one of the greatest intellects our ummah has seen. After mastering logic, realizing benefits therein and observing the general skeptical attitude prevailing regarding it, Imam Ghazali wrote this work, explaining logic (mantiq) in the terminology of the fuqaha. This work is often referred to by Imam Ghazali in his other works. This work is a masterful presentation of the confluence of two separate funun, only capable of being composed by someone with mastery in multiple funun, like Imam Ghazali.
